Study throughout the year and take adequate breaks to relax: CBSE ... Posted: 02 Jun 2014 02:35 AM PDT Oh, the terror of board exams. Staying up till late one night before the exam, mugging up mathematical formulae, and worrying about cut-off percentages, we've all been through all of that. Toppers are made of different stuff, however. Imagine revising the entire syllabus thrice before appearing for the final exams! Sounds difficult, but that's what these kids have successfully managed to achieve. CBSE class 12 results this year saw new records being created. Students are still scoring a perfect 100 in more than three subjects like it's no big deal. It is surprising how a few of them were actually 'disappointed' over missing out a 100 in all the subjects. Here is a list of toppers that CBSE released on its official website and this is what they had to say about their preparation. What is the formula for success in board exams? Read what the toppers have to say.Sarthak Agrawal, Delhi Public School Vasant Kunj, Delhi Scored highest marks in: English Core, Economics, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry Sarthak is the all-India topper who scored a staggering 99.6%, the highest ever till date. He scored a 100 in each subject except English Core where he scored 98, and that's what disappoints him! In an interview, an elated Sarthak revealed that he did not take tuitions but studied hard for 12-13 hours throughout the exams. He plans to pursue the coveted Economics Honours course from Delhi University. 'This is all I have planned right now,' he says. G Harishankar, Air Force Bal Bharti School, Delhi Scored highest marks in: English Core, Economics, Mathematics, Business Studies and Accountancy The Commerce topper with 99.2%, G. Harishankar has scored 100% marks in accountancy, business studies, and economics. 'This is unbelievable,' he says, 'I took tuition in subjects I felt weak in.' He wants to study B.Com (Honours) in Delhi University, or law at National Law School, Bangalore. Mugdh Setia, Delhi Public School Indirapuram Ghaziabad Scored highest marks in: English Core, History, Political Science and Psychology With 98.8% marks in Humanities Mudgh Setia says she is passionate about Psychology and would like to study a BA programme in Japan as she is extremely fond of Japan. She thanked her school for her scores and also sees B.Tech in Psychology from Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi as an option. Vasudha Gaur Dixit, Vasant Valley School Vasant Kunj, Delhi Scored highest marks in: Economics, Psychology, Sociology and Business Studies Vasudha scored 98.8% in Humanities and said she did not let exams affect her sleep routine. 'I studied throughout the year, especially during my preliminary exams, and by the time the exams came around, I was in my third revision,' says Vasudha. She says sitting and studying in one place is dangerous, so she ensured she took short breaks to talk and eat in between. She is interested in studying Economics from SRCC or St. Stephen's, and was also open to pursuing a law degree from UK. Although the CBSE website did not release the percentages of the students, here are some of the other all-India toppers this year: R Sreela, Rajagiri Public School Kalamassery Kerala Scored highest marks in: English Core, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry Ashish Hooda, Lancers Convent SSS Rohini Delhi Scored highest marks in: English Core, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry Sanchi Kathpalia, Springdales School Pusa Road Delhi Scored highest marks in: Economics, Mathematics, Business Studies and Accountancy Prachi Manchanda, from Delhi Public School Vasant Kunj, Delhi Scored highest marks in: English Core, Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science Jai Vikram Singh, Welham Boys School Dalanwala, Dehradun Scored highest marks in: English Core, Political Science, Psychology and Painting Akshay Aravindan, OMPSBB Sr Secondary School, Nungambakkam, Chennai Scored highest marks in: Functional English, Mathematics and Physics ![]()
Study Tips - Tips Study Mathematics Blog - Blogger Posted: 24 Mar 2014 07:05 AM PDT Here are some useful study tips for Mathematics. The key to acing Maths is to understand that practice is key for Mathematics! Sincerely hope these tips help. Please do not study Maths like studying History, Literature or Geography, the study method for Maths is totally different and opposite from studying Humanities. Reading a Maths textbook without practicing is not very helpful at all. Once a student understands the basic theory of a certain topic (usually just one or two pages of information), he or she can move on to practicing actual questions immediately. While practicing, the student will then learn more and more knowledge and question-answering strategies for that Maths topic. Even if you already know how to do a question, it is useful to practice it to improve on speed and accuracy. The study strategy for Maths and Physics are kind of similar, hence usually you will find that students who are good in Maths will also be good in Physics, and vice versa. Students from China usually do very well in Maths exams because they understand the strategy for studying Maths (which works very well up till JC level), namely a lot of practice with understanding. The strategy is called "题海战术" in Chinese, which means "immersing oneself in a sea of questions". Source for diagram below: Email from JobsCentral BrightMinds ![]()

So try to note down them in separate scribbling book or small note book and refer them again and again to remember perfectly. And in geography you need to remember all things highly related to oceans, factories and crops etc. Also you can see only less chapters in civics and economics. So you have chance to secure good marks from these chapters. So try to focus on that chapters also. Spend daily one hour at least to read this easy and interesting subject for obtaining good score.
